Gate valves
Gate valves
Gate valves are used for the bi-directional sealing or connecting of pipes, through which the working fluid flows. They are used in pipelines with larger diameters. They work by moving plates, within the valve body, which have an orifice to match the diameter of the pipe. The advantages of gate valves are their relatively short length, minimal loss of pressure and simple construction. They are used in industry, in the supply of water, steam and generally non-aggressive fluids.
The valves are manually actuated by a handwheel governing the movement of the wedge, which then interrupts the flow of liquid. The design of the valve incorporates a removable head, which allows for easier maintenance without having to open the hydraulic system. Gate valves are equipped with an external lever for manually setting the wedge to the middle position.
- the wedge is enclosed in antibacterial rubber
- a plastic closure conduit reduces resistance → low torque
- maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant stem sealing
- designed with increased protection against the overtightening of the stem and stem nuts
- screw-free joint between the bonnet and the valve body, where the seal utilizes the pressure of the working medium
- high corrosion resistance due to the absence of bolted joints
- simple assembly
- ability to mutually misalign the parts in the coupling by +/- 3°
- a change in the sealing ring allows for mounting on ductile cast iron or plastic pipes
- socket for internal or external bayonet locking
- with anti-displacement protection
Materials:
- body, bonnet and wedge: ductile cast iron EN-GJS-400-15 (GGG-40)
- stem: stainless steel DIN 1.4021 (13% Cr)
- wedge: rubberized with EPDM
- o-rings: EPDM
- packing nut, stem nut: forged brass
- corrosion protection
- both internal and external cast iron parts are protected with epoxy paint (RAL 5005)
