Development of sludge dewatering equipment for WWTPs
MIVALT's core program is the MP-DW dewatering machines. However, that's only part of what we can deliver to your wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). Since we have long focused on wastewater treatment plants, we want to offer our municipal and industrial customers a complete sludge dewatering solution. Along with our screw presses, we also produce a lot of peripherals, which we also develop ourselves.
Pumps, conveyors, etc.
Without powerful sewage pumps, it would hardly work at the WWTP. We, therefore, supply various pumps that feed the dewatering machine with sludge water. However, we can also provide dosing pumps that feed the polymerization stations with polymer.
An important peripheral at the output is, of course, the conveyors. The conveyor must transport the squeezed sludge from the machine to a container where the dewatered sludge is transported away from the WWTP on the back of a truck for further processing. This container is not immediately next to the machine, as it is usually bulky and cannot be easily handled in confined spaces.
In our practice, few solutions commonly available on the market suit us. And because we were hoping you could achieve the best results when dewatering, we are constantly working on developments.
In-house conveyor manufacture
Many conveyor suppliers are on the market, but almost none of the available components meet our specifications.
So, we set about developing and manufacturing our own. One that fits our needs exactly. We offer two types of conveyors:
Many competitors produce oversized conveyors with large screw gearboxes with very low efficiency. Because we try to fine-tune everything to the last detail, we manufacture all components with the appropriate motor necessary for the load. We therefore use much smaller motors in our conveyors. The front gearboxes on our conveyor belts are long-lasting, trouble-free, and consume up to three times less electricity. Compared to our competitors, our machine consumes about one-tenth of the cost of transporting sludge from the device to the container.
As far as screw conveyors are concerned, the situation is quite similar. Many companies offer too large diameters with unnecessarily high speeds, leading to increased consumption. For our screw conveyors, a 0.75 kW motor is sufficient, unlike the competition, which provides a 1.5 kW motor.
The larger the conveyor, the higher the cost of its thermal insulation. This entails insulation, installation of heating cables for heating, etc. In practice, this means additional energy and money spent.
Further development of sludge dewatering equipment
We always want to be one step ahead and offer the best possible solutions to the market. That is why we are focusing on the ability to accurately measure flocculant consumption as part of our continuous development. Thus, we are developing a spindle pump that will dispense the polymer from the polymerization station.
Together with other developments, we will reach a substantial degree of automation of the entire dewatering process and even greater user-friendliness within a year.
Each customer installation is unique in its own way, as many dewatering plants require specific solutions. Rarely does a one-size-fits-all solution on the market suit the customer, so we have taken a slightly more sophisticated route and are developing bespoke equipment.
Do you want to improve the dewatering at your WWTP? We have everything you need.
